This specialized workshop provides comprehensive training on the ARRI ALEXA 35 digital cinema camera, designed as a practical, hands-on bootcamp for both experienced production professionals and individuals pursuing entry into the field. You will achieve comprehensive expertise with the ALEXA 35 system, including wireless lens control systems and ARRI's professional grip equipment.

The bootcamp features practical exercises that simulate actual production setups and include active shooting practice. By completing the workshop, you will have developed the knowledge and operational confidence necessary to deploy the ALEXA 35 across a diverse range of professional projects. The curriculum addresses camera menu systems, available accessories, exposure management, the contemporary LogC4 color curve, both RAW and ProRes recording formats, ALF4 look profiles, professional monitoring approaches, working with anamorphic optics, and digital imaging technician responsibilities.

Day One Curriculum:

Introduction to the ALEXA 35's design objectives and development
Detailed examination of camera hardware and physical structure
Navigation of camera menus, parameter settings, and operational controls
Configuring camera systems for realistic production situations
Video resolution options, aspect ratio selection, frame rate configuration, and applying high frame rate capability
Hands-on practice session: Assembling complete camera packages and configuring for specific projects
Exposure management, including the LogC4 brightness curve specifications
Practical exercise: Exposure optimization, aspect ratio selection, frame rate application, and related parameters
Review and assessment of captured footage

Day Two Curriculum:

Examination of available recording formats and their appropriate applications
ARRIRAW and ProRes codec technologies and specifications
LogC4 color space and ARRI Wide Gamut 4 color gamut understanding
Comprehensive ALF4 look files and output LUTs for on-set monitoring
Camera system assembly and wireless electronics: wireless lens control via ARRI's Electronic Control System, and grip systems including ARRI Hi-5 and Master Grips
ARRI Camera Companion mobile application features
Hands-on assembly exercise: Building complete ALEXA 35 configurations, including Production and Lightweight accessory packages for studio shooting, handheld operation, and specialty configurations
Post-production workflow; ARRI Reference Tool for file review, metadata review and extraction, look file application, and ProRes transcoding; working with LogC4 and AWG4 files in DaVinci Resolve professional color grading software

If a participant is unable to attend for any reason, you may transfer registration to an alternate date or location, or use the full credit towards a different workshop.

You may also transfer enrollment to someone else, but you must provide the updated registrant information prior to the start of the class.

If unable to attend, you must notify CourseHorse within 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone classes in the event of low enrollment or forces beyond our control. If the instructor is sick or unable to attend, we will notify attendees 48 hours in advance of class to reschedule for a later date.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
