  • Write a Feature Screenplay in 5 Weeks

I think the class was okay overall. I would have loved to share out scripts more as well as have a better sculpted out timeline as to when we should have the first 50 pages done and the last 50 pages. While the professor was helpful and the class did keep me honest about writing my script, it would have done so much better with more structure. Often times the professor would forget what class he was teaching and show us the slides from an old lecture or completely different one. Also, his feedback wasn't the most constructive. He would tell student to stop talking after he asked them a question. He would snap at people who went on for too long. He seemed to only favorite scripts in the action genre. If someone has a script that was more drama or YA oreinted he would tell them that they aren't following along well enough. Over I'd give the class 2.5/5 stars. I would only recommend it to a friend if they really needed motivation to write everyday. But, if they wanted a class that would teach them HOW to write a script and offer script reading and constructive edits, I would tell them to steer clear.
