Class Description

Description

Calling all Comedy actors!

Don't miss our newest TV Comedy / Sitcom Class with Allen Hooper who was the casting associate on MODERN FAMILY for the run of the show from the pilot to the final episode (250 episodes!)

With other casting associate credits that include FRASIER, CALL ME KAT, SUPERIOR DONUTS and more, Allen knows the ins and outs of auditioning and working on TV comedies and sitcoms.

In your first class, Allen will run a Co-Star Comedy Challenge. The format will be a mock producer session to help you see “behind the curtain.”

As a class, you'll be assigned the same co-star sides.  The various roles will help illustrate how to make the average interesting, how to make the extreme genuine, and how creating your environment through experience, research and imagination can elevate your acting choices.

In your second class, Allen will work with you on TV Comedy and SitcomTraining.

You'll work on prepared one-on-one sides with a reader to better train for the real world.  Allen will assign material or you can choose from a list of provided options.

The various roles will help illustrate knowing your type, the value of being word perfect, how to bring to life the writer's intent while making it your own, and ways to transition great improv and theatre experience into the acting style of television comedy.

Q&A is interspersed throughout along with a closing Q&A.

Don't miss this chance to work with this TOP Casting Director!

What to Prepare:

For both classes, Allen will assign scenes or provide scenes for you to pick from.

  • The policy for an online class or special event is 8 business days prior to the start date in order to receive credit for monies paid.
If you cancel in time, credit is automatically returned to your account. If you are canceling late, no credit is given unless we find a replacement for you. We have, on occasion, been able to replace actors who cancel late with others from wait lists or who might be standing by. If you are replaced, as a courtesy, we will not charge you for the late cancellation. Please consider any late cancellation a charge on your account, and any resulting replacement a courtesy.
