The design of the 6-Week NYSL TV Pilot Workshop is to not only help you. develop your script, but to develop you into a truly self-sufficient writer. Rather than serving up a cookie-cutter formula, our goal is to equip you with a solid grasp of the fundamentals of screenwriting, so when you get that next idea for TV show, you won’t need another class.
By fundamentals we don’t mean what is most basic, but what is most essential. The principles, tools and techniques you’ll come back to time and time again, as you bring out the best version of your stories. The stories you’ll work on in the workshop, and the ones to come in the future.
What You'll Learn
By the End
By the end of the 6-week workshop you’ll emerge with a solid outline for your pilot script… A good chunk of that script written.... And a solid strategy for getting it into the world once it’s finished.
And you’ll have the knowledge and skills to be able to turn the next idea for a TV show that visits you into a pilot, without needing another class.
*You will also be eligible to take part in The LAB, should you care to finish your script under the guidance of your instructor.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
