Bring light, texture, and sophistication to your acrylic paintings with gold leafing and metallic paint colors in this class for beginners.

Expand your creative practice with luminous finishes like gold leafing and metallic, shimmery paint colors.

Topics we'll cover:

How to apply gold leaf to a variety of surfaces
Techniques for working with metallic paints and shimmering finishes
How to use glitter in a refined and intentional way within fine art
Surface preparation, adhesive application, sealing, and layering methods
How to combine texture, color, and reflective materials into a finished composition

If you've been lookin to develop your own personal style using decorative mixed media elements, this class is for you!

Drawing skills not required. All skill levels welcome. Still new to painting? No problem! Effie will share easy to follow steps.

Students will walk away with a beautiful painting (or two!) and techniques that can be applied to future paintings and mixed media projects.

Supply List for Students to Bring:

This is a studio class and students will be using their supplies on the first week.

1-2 canvases or panels, small to medium sizes
a few 8x8 or 8x10 scrap / paint-over panels or canvases to practice during our lessons
gold leaf, any color
leaf adhesive (sizing)
soft brushes for leaf application (watercolor or makeup kind)
1-2 metallic acrylic colors
gel mediums or any other texture mediums
Sealers and/or finishing varnish
palette paper
palette knife
various acrylic paints
various acrylic brushes
quality paper towels like Viva or Blue Shop

Refund Policy

Cancelled Class Policy

Occasionally the school may find it necessary to cancel a course or workshop due to scheduling conflicts or instructor cancellation. If this occurs, registered students will be contacted and will be refunded the full course tuition and any additional fees.

Refund Policy

If something should come up and you are unable to attend your class/workshop, please give us 3 business days notice prior to the start of the class/workshop for a refund less 5% cancellation fee.

After 3 business days, no refunds will be given.

Make Up Policy

Life happens and you may miss a class. You will be allowed to make up one class from the session.

Please request a “make up slip” that is active for the next 30 days. DO NOT just show up to redeem a make up slip as full classes will have NO CHOICE but to turn away the make up student if there are no available tables/space.

You may make up your class in any class that has room, it does not need to be the class that you originally took.

Make ups are limited to one class per session.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
