Class Description

Description

Master the specialized field of real estate photography in this comprehensive and practical course. Real estate photography requires distinct technical skills and compositional understanding that differ significantly from other photography genres. This expert-led workshop provides both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in capturing properties effectively.

Professional Instruction Focus:

An accomplished real estate photographer will guide you through a comprehensive range of techniques, including essential lighting strategies and high dynamic range (HDR) photography methods. You will explore compositional theory and its practical application to architectural spaces, learning various approaches for managing the complex lighting conditions found in residential properties, from straightforward environments to challenging situations.

  • Interior Camera Angles: Discover optimal camera positioning and angles for interior photography that showcase spaces effectively
  • Real Estate Composition Principles: Understand how composition fundamentals specifically apply to property photography
  • Interior Lighting Balance: Explore techniques for balancing interior shots with window light sources for optimal results
  • Exterior Lighting Conditions: Learn approaches for handling outdoor lighting during daylight and twilight hours

Community Connections:

The course provides valuable insights into the vibrant real estate photography community, exploring multiple pathways for professional involvement and continued learning. You will connect with resources supporting long-term skill development in this growing field.

Equipment Recommendations:

While any digital camera will function, professional results benefit from a digital SLR camera or mirrorless camera featuring manual exposure controls and a wide-angle lens. For standard crop-sensor SLR cameras, use ten to twenty millimeter lenses; for full-frame cameras, use twelve to twenty-four millimeter options. Enhance your setup with a circular polarizer filter, external flash unit if available, and a sturdy tripod with adjustable head positioning.

Prerequisites:

Familiarity with basic exposure principles and the ability to adjust exposure settings on your camera is recommended. If you need to refresh your technical knowledge, consider completing the Photo Basics course focusing on exposure control before enrolling in this specialized real estate photography course.
