Class Description

Description

This specialized photography safari is created with smartphone users specifically in mind.

Her face says it all: “You can make me sit in a segregated part of this train, but you can’t break my spirit.” Her face is proud, resolute, her chin is held high, her lips are tight, her hands firmly clasped in her lap, as if to say: “Someday, one day, we will be able to sit anywhere we want. I might not see it in my lifetime, but I know it will happen….”

She is a life-sized figure featured in the "America on the Move" exhibition at the museum, and her expression makes an outstanding image for learning how to capture compelling photographs with your camera.

You will discover techniques for composing photographs, managing white balance, and addressing distinctive lighting conditions without relying on a flash. How can you use your Smartphone to photograph museum exhibits, fine art paintings, sculptures, dioramas, and other artistic installations when the lighting is minimal? We will teach you the approaches to tell powerful visual stories and create photographs with maximum emotional impact.
